Green Solutions for HVAC
We hear more and more everyday about “Going Green” and how we can help the environment. In our industry we are also seeing the equipment manufacturers focusing more on the higher efficiency units. As of January 2010 the EPA has regulated that all equipment manufactured must use R-410a refrigerant. The older units that use Freon or R-22 will still be able to be serviced and the R-22 refrigerant will be manufactured until 2020. However, the cost for R-22 refrigerant is projected to rise over the next 10 years. The EPA has some good information on ways to save money and help the environment at the same time.

New Green Heating and Air Conditioning Systems Available to Save Money and Increase Comfort Level
We use the latest equipment by Sanyo (Eco-i) that is able to heat and cool your home in a way that you never thought possible. We can install a heat pump system that will heat without the use a auxiliary heat package, plus we can set the system up in zones that give you complete control over your home's heating using ducted and wall mounted units in the same system.

Green Boilers and Indirect Water Heaters
We also install high efficiency gas boilers and indirect water heaters. You can get a 95% AFUE gas boiler with a modulating gas valve and install a “Smart Tank” on the same system. These boilers operate on an as-needed basis. They will modulate from 20% to 100%. When you connect an indirect water heater we can prioritize your domestic hot water so you will always have plenty for your showers and sinks.
This is the Triangle Tube Prestige Solo 110 Condensing Gas Boiler with 95% AFUE. It is connected to a Smart 50 indirect water heater. If you have a typical standard atmospheric boiler your AFUE is between 65% and 81%. The difference is that when it calls for heat you get all of the BTU’s at once. This is a great way to keep your beloved radiators and get a very efficient boiler too.
